Specific Aims of SEED

The Singapore Epidemiology of Eye Disease (SEED) Centre aims:

  1. To determine the prevalence, incidence, risk factors and public health significance of blinding eye diseases in Singapore and Asia through the conduct of epidemiological studies
  2. To foster international collaborations with other ophthalmic institutes in Asia and worldwide
  3. To provide research, expertise and consultation to other research centers, hospitals and ophthalmic institutions in Singapore and Asia
  4. To conduct training programmes for clinicians and research students interested in ophthalmic epidemiology
  5. To organise workshops and symposia and international meetings on ophthalmic clinical research and epidemiologic methods
